Evidence based Treatment for Migraine

Do you suffer from debilitating Migraines?

I ma always really pleased when I come across studies that show the benefits of acupuncture so I was really pleased to come across an article on webmd.

The article reported on a study of 401 people aged 18 and 65 who were given twelve acupuncture treatments to help with their migraine.

The results were outstanding

A year later, researchers found those who received acupuncture:

• Experienced 22 fewer days with headaches
• Used 15% less medication
• Made 25% fewer visits to their doctor
• Took 15% fewer days off sick from work than the control group

Acupuncture is rarely the subject of rigorous evidence based research.  Unfortunately most research funding in health comes from drug companies and they are rarely keen on studying something that would mean people take fewer drugs.

You don't have to suffer with migraines - acupuncture can be a really effective treatment.
